Annika Palustria: The Classic Black Chelsea Boot with a Touch of Magic

I am so chuffed to finally have the Annika Palustria in Classic Black live on the shop. If you have been searching for a Chelsea boot that is truly wide enough for a natural toe splay but still looks sophisticated enough for a proper occasion, your search is over.

Annika herself spent years in the barefoot industry before realising that so many of us with wider feet were still being pinched by standard barefoot brands. She designed the Palustria to be the antidote to that. It is a boot that respects the true shape of the human foot while maintaining a beautiful, magical aesthetic.

Handcrafted Quality and Sustainable Comfort

These boots are designed in Denmark and meticulously handcrafted in Portugal using slow fashion principles. The leather is premium and sourced from gold rated tanneries, ensuring high quality and ethical standards. One of my favourite details is the lining: it is vegetable tanned and chrome free, which feels incredibly soft against the skin and is much kinder to the environment.

The sole is made from recycled rubber and is totally flat, which means these boots are infinitely resoleable, designed to last and stay with you for many seasons to come. This means the Palustria is built to be a long term companion for your feet, standing up to the elements while remaining wonderfully flexible. Inside, you will find a luxury insole made from memory foam and cork, giving you that famous walking on moss feeling with every step.

The Ultimate Fit for Roman and Square Feet

The shape of the Palustria is particularly special. It features a very generous, anatomical toe box that is a dream for anyone with a Roman or Plateau foot shape. If your first three toes are a similar length and you often feel restricted in other boots, you will find an incredible amount of freedom here. You get all the room for a healthy toe splay without the boots ever looking bulky or like clown feet.

A Very Limited Release

We have managed to secure a single run of sizes for this launch. Because Annika produces her boots in small, handcrafted batches, we only have a limited amount of stock available for the season. Once these are gone, we cannot guarantee a restock until next year.
